Secure a U.S. Visa
It's best to start the Visa application process as early as possible if attending The HFA Show.How-To Secure a U.S. Visa
Step 1
Register for The HFA Show. After your registration is complete, you'll receive a confirmation email with your badge information that is needed to access your invitation letter.
Step 2
Login to the Registration Resource Center using the email address you registered with and your badge number. After login, choose the option to "Print Visa Letter" to access your documents.
Step 3
Determine if you need a visa and which type. If staying in the U.S. for less than 90 days, check if your country is part of the Visa Waiver Program, which exempts you from needing a Business (B-1) Visa.
Step 4
Schedule an interview with the U.S. Embassy or Consulate. Appointment requirements and wait times vary by country; check here for details on appointment requirements and check here for wait times.
Step 5
Ask your Embassy or Consulate about required fee amounts for a Visa, whether they are refundable, and how and when they must be paid.
Step 6
Gather the following documentation before your appointment:
- A valid passport
- Any required forms.
- Supporting documents, such as employment, reason for travel, and financial status
- Proof of payment of fees
- Health & Fitness Association letter of invitation
Step 7
Submit your passport, application, and supporting documents to the U.S. Embassy or Consulate on your scheduled interview date.
Step 8
Sometimes, additional reviews may extend the wait time by four to six weeks, so start the process early.
Tip: During your interview with the U.S. Embassy or Consulate, they will assess your professional background, social status, cultural ties, family situation, and long-term plans. Make sure to emphasize what binds you to your home country: your job, your family situation, property you own, your bank account.
